Training a pilot involves considerable time and resources, especially for glider pilots. The piloting of such an aircraft (without an engine) has some peculiarities of preparation because the lack of the engine does not allow errors, especially during the take-off and landing stages. Classically these gliders contain the minimum navigation equipment mechanically implemented. The paper presents a mechatronic system capable of acquiring and monitoring the flight parameters of the aircraft. Data from the aerial unit are displayed on a screen in the glider and transmitted to a ground unit that can monitor several aircraft simultaneously. Weather sensors information (temperature and humidity) are very useful for the pilot jhkkfor identifying and exploiting the presence of thermodynamic currents. The system represents an essential tool for the trainers to analyze the pilot mistakes and learn how to correct them in the future, improving the training process and increasing the safety of flights. In addition, in the case of a crash, the system data can be used as a BlackBox.
