Target localization in indoor environment is usually inaccurate because of the multipath interference, which often generate the unwanted false target and increase false alarm. This paper considers the indoor target localization problem and proposes a multipath false target removal algorithm. Specifically, we first analyze the propagation paths of electromagnetic wave and establish echo signal model. Then, the initial target position can be obtained by exploiting the multichannel phase comparison localization approach. Moreover, we choose the location coordinate corresponding to the range of LOS path to calculate the multipath range. After that, a simple but effective algorithm is proposed to remove the multipath false target and retain real target location. Finally, we validate the proposed algorithm via the experimental data.
