The purpose of this study is to analyze the elements and processes of demand-responsive freight vehicle-to-cargo matching in high-speed rail freight transportation and to establish a corresponding matching model for the rapid and precise alignment of vehicles and cargo under a demand-responsive framework. This research primarily focuses on high-speed rail express freight transportation, with an emphasis on the formulation and optimization of vehicle-to-cargo matching schemes at stations. By analyzing the characteristics and demands of demand-responsive high-speed rail freight transport, a relevant vehicle-to-cargo matching model is proposed, aimed at enhancing freight transportation efficiency and meeting timeliness demands. The feasibility of the model and algorithm is validated through case studies, resulting in effective vehicle-to-cargo matching solutions. The findings provide effective matching strategies for high-speed rail freight transport, offering significant references to advance the development and practice of high-speed rail cargo transport with a degree of innovation and practicality. This study has achieved rapid and accurate matching of vehicles and cargo within the context of demand response, providing strong support for the sustainable development of high-speed rail freight transport.
