Drowsiness appears when an individual is stressed and fatigued, and this may happen unexpectedly. It may happen due to physical efforts or because of doing the same task for an elongated period of time. This sleeping sensation produces a precarious state of affairs and enhances the likelihood of a mishap. Drivers who are worn out and lethargic have sluggish feedback and make a severe lapse in their judgment. When one is on the road, getting drowsy is not a very good state to be in because a single wrong decision will cost one’s life especially on highways where the speed limits for the vehicles are usually over 80 km/hr and one is driving alongside other heavy vehicles. This study intends to develop a device or a system that will help the driver to prevent road accidents. This demonstration of driver safety system can also be used by the students who prefers studying during the night and feels sleepy at time; the buzzer would really help them stay awake when feeling sleepy and help them study for elongated period of time. The review uses microcontroller combined with a sensor to detect drowsiness and on detection alarms with a buzzer along with applying brakes on wheels gradually for the safety of driver.
