It includes the idea and scope of MSI, collecting, processing and broadcasting of this information by shore stations, the reception and display on board ship and transmission from ship to other vessels and competent authorities on shore. The infrastructure contains major items needed to: the formatting of MSI into an S-100 compatible format, the creating a single window for MSI and the transmission of safety related information from shore stations and ships.
