According to the demand of high security for the aviation actuator, the algorithm of the third harmonic current injection for the five-phase fault-tolerant permanent magnet synchronous motor is analyzed founded on the mathematical model of the motor. The strategy of decoupled current control which applies double-space voltage feed-forward compensation is also presented. Taking the dead-time of the inverter and the third harmonic content of the back EMF into account, the control system model is established in MATLAB. The simulation results prove the validity of the theory analysis. The torque-density of the five-phase FTPMSM is higher by adopting the third harmonic injection and the frequency response of the system is faster by taking the measure of double-space decoupled current control.
