The increasingly global nature of the engineering sphere dictates the relevance of cross-cultural design in applications related to human-automationAutomation interaction. This paper presents the results of a systematicSystematic, data-based literature review that used mining techniques to uncover emergingEmerging trends at the intersection of Cross-Cultural Design and Human Factors. Tools including VOSViewer, MAXQDAMaxqda, Publish or Perish, VicinitasVicinitas, and more were used to uncover insights into cutting-edge and historical research in the fields. It was found that cross-cultural design is a fairly new and interdisciplinaryInterdisciplinary field that is growing rapidly, with publications increasing almost 700% since 2000. It was concluded that proper cross-cultural design and associated management techniques require a mix of context-based communicationCommunications, attentionAttention, and culture-based research. As the world becomes more connected, further research is necessary to ensure that cultural barriers do not stand in the way of global cooperation.
