Under the promotion of national vigorous development of port logistics construction, the construction of port distribution centre will become the top priority of future development. Before the port distribution centre is newly built, reasonable site planning is of great practical significance to enhance the competitiveness of port logistics services. In this context, this paper analyses the characteristics of port distribution centres and studies the site selection problem of new distribution centres in ports. Combining the salient features of the port distribution centre site selection problem, this paper considers all the influencing factors in the process of container freight station - port distribution centre - customer enterprise, determines the site selection objectives, and establishes a two-layer planning model for site selection; the upper layer realizes the main decision objective of optimal cost of port distribution centre, and the lower layer realizes the auxiliary decision objective of optimal customer; according to the decision objective of site selection and the characteristics of the two-layer planning model, the genetic algorithm is used to solve the problem, and reasonable cases are designed and solved by software to verify the effectiveness of the model and algorithm.
