Abstract: A fuel consumption calculation model based on the vehicle specific power (VSP) characteristics of the whole vehicle is proposed to grasp the fuel consumption in different speed intervals and slope intervals, which facilitates the guidance of the optimization of the energy consumption performance of the vehicle. The fuel economy of the heavy-duty vehicle was optimized and upgraded in terms of efficient and clean engine combustion, advanced powertrain, electronic control accessories, throttle MAP technology, low-viscosity lubricating oil, aerodynamics, and low-rolling resistance tires.
