Three hybrid optical/digital methods for computing the geometric moments are reviewed. These methods have an optical processor producing the transform of the input image and a digital processor computing the various spatial derivatives of the observed optical transform intensity. Algorithms are provided to obtain the geometric moments from these various derivatives.
