Glare refers to the visual conditions that cause excessive brightness contrast in space or time due to inappropriate brightness distribution in the human visual field, causing visual discomfort and reducing the visibility of objects. Glare in the field of vision that the human eye cannot adapt to may cause disgust, discomfort, and even loss of clarity or dark vision for a short time. Glare is one of the important causes of visual fatigue. If the glare generated by road lighting exceeds the allowable glare threshold, it will bring unsafe factors to road traffic. This paper introduces an automatic test equipment for vehicle-mounted street lamp glare, which can automatically evaluate the glare of road street lamp by means of imaging luminance meter installed on a small car.
