The driving conditions of heavy-duty pure electric vehicles have a great influence on energy consumption and driving range. The shortened cycle method composed of China heavy-duty commercial vehicle test cycle for light truck (CHTC-LT) and high-speed constant speed condition of 80km/h and the constant speed method of 40km/h are used to test energy consumption and driving range of pure electric trucks under normal temperature environment of chassis dynamometer. The test results show that the energy consumption of CHTC-LT (shortened cycle method) is increased by 51.7% compared with that of 40km/h (constant velocity method), and the driving range is reduced by 35.9%. The energy consumption of the vehicle at 40km/h is reduced by 36.3% and 42.8% compared with that of the CHTC-LT and 80km/h, respectively. Compared with the constant speed condition, the vehicle has brake energy recovery in CHTC-LT condition. When the braking energy recovery system is on, the energy consumption is 11.5% lower than the braking energy recovery system is off, and the mileage is 13.0% higher. Therefore, reasonable optimization of the energy management control strategy is conducive to improving the vehicle energy utilization rate and extending the driving mileage is of great significance.
