This study uses the important container rail-sea intermodal transport areas in China as the research area, and gets data through visiting research and network query to investigate the change in container rail-sea intermodal transport demand under the new development pattern. The generation and distribution of container freight in the source area are investigated using the 'four-stage' method. The market competitiveness of rail-sea intermodal transport is then investigated and assessed, and the Logit-based share rate model is developed to forecast the flow and direction of container rail-sea intermodal transport in the source area. Finally, the market share rate of container rail-sea intermodal transportation under various situations is investigated by varying the price and capacity level of container transportation.
