In order to improve friction modeling during stamping simulations, we propose to take into account the influence of parameters such as contact pressure or sliding speed on the friction coefficient. The friction coefficients of coated steel sheets under several pressures and speeds have been measured. Hence a friction law, taking into account the evolution of the coefficient of friction has been developed in contrast to a constant value as for Amonton-Coulomb laws. After comparison between numerical and experimental results, it seems the predictions of thickness, fracture and punch force are better when using a non-linear friction law.
