AUSPACE Limited and Australian industry have produced an Australian scientific payload to be launched by the Space Shuttle in 1989. The experience- and skills developed by Australian engineers on these projects will enable Australia to produce its own satellites and develop many other high-technology industries as spinoffs. ENDEAVOUR is a technology demonstrator for the much larger and more significant free-flying space telescope LYMAN, which is a joint Australian, European and USA project.
