The maintenance of modern manufacturing controls is described. The four areas necessary to achieving this control include: specifications that are adequate, clear, and concise; proper selection of samples to insure information representative of the product; testing and inspection that includes processing equipment, materials, and, if possible, personnel; and reporting to provide adequate and timely information to those responsible for corrective actions.
