AMS2470P results from a Five-Year Review and update of this specification with changes to Ordering Information, color 3.1.2.1, Masking 3.2.2, Fixture Contact Locations 3.2.3, Sealing 3.3.3, Corrosion Resistance 3.4.2, Adhesive Bond Verification Test 3.4.3, Touch Up 3.5, Quality 3.6, Responsibility for Inspection 4.1, Periodic Tests 4.2.2, Preproduction Tests 4.2.3, Sampling and Testing 4.3, 4.3.1, 4.3.2, 4.3.3, 4.3.4, Approval 4.4.2, Control factors 4.4.3, Resampling and Retesting 4.6.1.1, Rejections 7, and Notes 8.2.7, 8.2.10, 8.2.11, 8.2.12, 8.2.13, 8.3, 8.8, and 8.9. 1 Purchase order shall specify not less than the following: AMS2470P Aluminum alloy and temper to be anodized Required color, if dyed (3.1.2, 8.8) Special features, geometry or processing present on parts that requires special attention by the processor Optional: Specified fixture contact locations (3.2.3.2) Optional: No sealing for parts that will subsequently be painted, coated or adhesively bonded (3.3.3) Sealer to be used if other than water (3.1.3) Adhesive Bond Verification Test if required (3.1.1, 3.4.3), test frequency if different (4.2.2) Quantity of pieces to be anodized 2 Parts manufacturing operations such as heat treating, forming, joining and media finishing can affect the condition of the substrate and adversely affect the finished part. The sequencing of these types of operations should be specified by the cognizant engineering organization or purchaser and is not controlled by this specification.
