While since years from the manufacturers of passenger cars a great effort is dedicated to the goal to reach a controlled deformation - behaviour, e.g. of the front- or rear-section of the car body, there exists presently very little or no effort at all from the road-builder to act in equal sense of increased passive safety. In spite of the fact, that the means available to achieve reduced peak values of deceleration are for the road builder of much higher effectiveness than for the car-manufacture no newer road designs are observable giving full credit to all the consequences derivable directly as requirements from the basic laws of motion. Contrary it seems that any development to the better securing of our express-ways or divided high-ways has come to a total standstill. The principal fault is road-outlay, vehicle-use and operation are made clear as they can easily be concluded from the strict observation of the basic laws of collision. Only means for considerable increase in passive safety are described which could be brought to action without any additional costs in car or road-design.
