Traffic Telematics of the Mannesmann group is based on the use and linking of bi-directional mobile data telecommunication and position determination via satellite. The existing infrastructures can be used to realize a multitude of traffic telematics services, which cover a wide spectrum, from information services and emergency calls to individual dynamic route guidance and the closed feedback loop of traffic situation analysis and traffic control.Three elements are needed for a traffic telematics system to be effective:
