Zero Defects is a program that attacks mistakes and errors at all levels. It is a management tool for the reduction of defects through prevention, not detection. In the three years since its inception, the program has saved millions of dollars in American industry, proving the employee can do his job right the first time when properly motivated. Success of the program depends on: total management support, careful planning, dynamic program administration, and intense employee indoctrination. The basis of the Zero Defects concept is the challenge to strive for error free performance, and the recognition of those who have accepted the challenge.
