The increasing use of small artificial lightning generation facilities for developmental testing of aircraft components by the manufacturer has required the measurements of the test currents in the presence of the strong electromagnetic fields associated with the high current discharges. Special techniques are presented for the set up of the facility high current paths and for the use of measurement equipment such as the oscilloscopes and high current sensors to assure that reasonably accurate measurements of the current waveforms are obtained.
