The proliferation of channels in on board race car data systems has produced quantities of data too large to be analyzed and acted upon in the time frame required for race team decision making. This paper discusses the requirements for an analytical model capable of tracking under and oversteer behavior of a racing chassis under real world conditions. Several potential algorithms are discussed and evaluated.
