Electrical functions serving the passenger in today's cars increase and get more and more sophisticated. They need to be controlled during the car's passage on the assembly line and with the help of automized devices which are flexible enough to adapt easily to new models and equipments: theefore the use of portable stations controlled by micro-processors related via VHF-radio to two computers inside the workshop. Each vehicle is identified and, according to its specifications, the central computer gives as well instructions for control to these terminals as the namely descripton of the equipment to be controlled. The operator, on board of the vehicle with its portable station, executes the orders given by the computer which, at the end of the test, furnishes a final control ticket allowing for eventually necessary repairs or corrective measures to be taken concerning the following cars
