Microvision is a system for generating a runway symbol for the landing display using microwave frequencies and monopulse techniques. This paper is a status report of system improvement accomplished during the last half of 1963. Jitter in the image was substantially reduced by means of a new antenna design, which is described. The advantageous characteristics of Microvision include relative simplicity and low cost in both airborne and ground equipment, and a complete lack of moving parts.
