This paper presents information on a dimensionally stable thermoplastic olefin (TPO) material for the painted automotive cladding, filler panel, and rocker panel market. The material was developed to meet the styling requirements and tight design tolerances for the new automotive platforms. Development data on physical properties and paint testing is included. This information is further supported with processing and component comparisons to an alternative material.
