With the advent of new interest in hydrospace, the manned, deep submersible has achieved a prominent place in oceanography and ocean engineering. Man-rated vessels capable of descending thousands of feet into the ocean have to be carefully evaluated. A description of tests and evaluation procedures for the propulsion system of the Aluminaut submarine is given in this paper along with sample data obtained from thése tests.
