Advances in computer technology have given rise to a variety of new applications for personal computers. One important and growing application is the use of personal computers to provide the power to develop computerized instrumentation systems. The low cost of PC's combined with the ever increasing capability of these computers makes them ideal for a variety of instrumentation applications. Both hardware and software aspects of this new and exciting growth area will be examined.
