The purpose of this paper is to explore the degree of correlation between the subjective ride evaluations by a qualified group of people and various objective ride vibration analysis techniques. It is not the purpose of this paper to establish limits of acceptable levels of vibration or vibration comfort criteria on an absolute basis. Rather it deals with relative aspects of ride comparisons between various vehicles. Preliminary evaluations of these objective techniques indicate that they correlate well with subjective evaluations.
