The high torque low speed motor (HTLS) continues to gain popularity in the off-highway mobile industry. While providing the features of infinite speed control, dynamic braking and increased design freedom that is true with all hydrostatic drives, the HTLS motor also offers higher overall efficiencies, greater resistance to contamination, more compact length, increased longevity and instantaneous mechanical free-wheeling. Therefore, designers of mobile machinery incorporating HTLS motors can expect increased fuel economy and overall performance, lower installed costs and greater reliability.
