A futuristic concept of precoated “Paint Film” is presented, as one approach to meeting environmental standards and upgrading the performance of paint on component parts. Emphasis is placed on one of several possible constructions, showing specification test results, as compared to sprayed paint. Post and in-process application is suggested to plastic components as well as metal bodies. Features and concerns are identified.
