LEDs are gaining adoption in Rear Combination Lamp (RCL) applications. To ensure proper operation of the LEDs in RCLs, specialized drive circuitry is needed, and this drive circuitry is commonly referred to as an LED Drive Module or LDM. This paper discusses the required functionality of LDMs, provides background information on solutions currently used, and describes a new LDM design and its attributes.
