This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of barsand forgings up through 3.000 inches (76.20 mm), inclusive, in diameter or least distance between parallel sides with a maximum cross-sectional area of 10 square inches (64.5 cm2), and forging stock of any size (See 8.7). AMS6905B results from an update of this specification that revises the hydrogen content to that of AMS4975 and AMS4976 in Table 1, requires vacuum in the first consumable electrode melt (3.2) and agreement on mechanical property values for material outside specification ranges (3.5.1.1.5 and 8.7), adds AS6279 (3.8) and revises the report paragraph (4.4).
