High pressure water jets can selectively remove materials, which makes it ideal for coatings removal and surface preparation. A review of some fundamental aspects of this technology will be presented for a better understanding of its potentials, which are evidenced by many published industrial applications. Advantages and limitations of this technology will be summarized.
