Ford Motor Company's Overseas Product Engineering Office (OPEO) has successfully modified U.S. designed vehicles for various export markets, including Mexico, Venezuela, Middle East, and Europe. Powertrain modifications include leaded fuel revisions and engine calibration changes necessary to meet local conditions and standards. Vehicles with unique export engine calibrations include the Taurus/Sable, 1989 Thunderbird, Topaz, and Continental. Export vehicles are then extensively tested to assure proper operation.
