This specification establishes the requirements for various types of identification sleeving that will shrink to a predetermined size upon the application of heat after it has been marked. Continuous operating temperature ratings range from -55° to 175°C (-67° to 347°F). (See 6.1). This document has been declared "Stabilized" by the SAE AE-8D Wire and Cable Committee and will no longer be subjected to periodic reviews for currency. Users are responsible for verifying references and continued suitability of technical requirements. Users are referred to AS23053 for alternative marking sleeves.
