Infrared CO/HC analyzer utilizes the principle of characteristic absorption of CO or HC. The concentration is determined by the molecular number of CO or HC in the sample cell. With a specified dimension of cell, the molecular number of certain concentrations of CO or HC decrease when the atmospheric pressure is reduced or if elevation is increased. Problems only exist if the meter is not linear.
