The two stroke engine with fuel injection is thought to be cost effective option for requirement of light weight and high performance vehicle engines. To be successful, it must demonstrate low emission levels. A new electronically controlled injection system has been fitted in a crank case-scavenged two stroke engine. It was also fitted on the transfer port. Comparison of the performance of the two injection systems has highlighted the potential of the port injection strategy. Moreover, combustion parameters such as modes of IMEP cycles, modes of heat release angles and COV% are compared to predict the combustion stability.
