The basic aerodynamic design criteria and methodology used in the design of the variable geometry turbine are presented along with gas stand test results.A microprocessor controller was designed and tested with the engine and VPT. Both the development of the controller and the exploration of the optimum relationship between the VPT turbo and the engine are presented along with steady-state engine data.
