The SNAP-50/SPUR experimental program at CANEL is described including corrosion testing, mechanical properties testing, fuel element testing, boiling heat transfer testing, and testing related to the development of motor pumps and valves. Results of corrosion and mechanical properties testing are presented as well as some of the results of motor pump component testing. It is concluded that most of the basic technological problems of those portions of the SNAP-50/SPUR system which are the responsibilities of Pratt & Whitney, CANEL, have been solved.
