The population of larger than 150 horsepower tractors in North America has now grown to a point where powered implements are being designed to utilize the higher horsepower available. The continuing objective of reducing driveline noise levels while transmitting power efficiently can be achieved in these larger units by a proper analysis of the driveline geometry as well as the drive shaft design. This paper outlines the factors considered in the analysis.
