A reliability approach regarding evaporator external corrosion was developed. Numerous evaporators used in the field were examined in detail and the results of this thorough analysis led to the development of a reliability test method which simulates the actual evaporator service field environment. Application of reliability laws and concepts on field data and laboratory results allowed to predict failures percentage in a defined environment.
