Engineering resins are being challenged by the automotive industry to meet ever increasing part performance requirements. New materials are being developed to meet the challenge presented in air induction components and allow the design freedom to incorporate several underhood components into one. As engine compartment temperatures and system acoustical requirements continue to increase, the demand for materials that offer improved performance properties at higher temperatures becomes even greater. This paper looks at several new nylon 6 based products specifically designed to meet these needs.
