Drivers of large haulage trucks in surface mines can now see only about 35 percent of where they can steer. As a result, collision is a constant danger. To help solve this problem, the Bureau has developed an improved visibility system that can cost-effectively increase a driver’s field-of-vision. This presentation summarizes the Bureau’s efforts to develop and in-mine test the system’s prototype hardware.
