This technical paper addresses key advances in Flap (High Lift Device) manufacturing technology at the Airbus facility in Bremen, Germany from 1999 to 2004. Strategic manufacturing requirements leading to automated assembly procedures are described, establishing the core of High-Lift Device work flow.
