The increasing demand for product efficiency and productivity, together with the increased usage of electronics on mobile equipment, has created the need for proportional electro-hydraulic systems which operate reliably at a high performance level. Performance and reliability of these systems will be improved if stronger consideration could be given to certain parameters important to the mating of the proportional pilot valve to the rest of the hydraulic system. This paper will touch upon some of these parameters, presenting some practical hints to help the systems engineer.
