Electronic design reuse must be leveraged to the fullest extent possible to achieve optimal development cost in any electronics industry. However, there are risks associated with design reuse when circuits are applied where the requirements are not identical. To be fully effective and mitigate risk, electronic design reuse programs must include formal design analysis. This paper will discuss design reuse and how formal design analysis can leverage the benefits and mitigate the risks. Also, some discussion of techniques for developing an electronic design library will be addressed.
