This paper describes the Flight Simulation Laboratory developed at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, California. The growth of flight simulation laboratories in industry has created a need for people trained in this multidisciplinary area. The Flight Simulation Laboratory at Cal Poly has been created to address this need. Outlined in this paper is the development history, the relation and interaction with industry, the courses offered in conjunction with, and the work going on in the laboratory. Although the laboratory is only three years old, it is starting to accomplish the goals it was designed to meet.
