In order to accomplish the functions of a front-end loader, a unique combination of weight, horsepower, hydraulic power, and structure must be designed into the vehicle. This combination is a function of the volume of the nominal general-purpose bucket and can be designed in terms of “parameters per bucket capacity.” Graphs relating the high-performance design to any size loader established the family concept of front-end loader design.
