This SAE Standard applies to new refrigerant used in motor vehicle passenger air-conditioning (A/C) systems designed to use HFC-134a. Hermetically sealed, refrigerated cargo systems are not covered by this document. The purpose of this SAE Standard is to establish the minimum level of purity required and container specifications for new HFC-134a refrigerant used in, mobile air-conditioning (A/C) systems. The refrigerant shall meet all the requirements as identified in ARI 700-2004 and all future ARI standards for HFC-134a.
