Time Delay Spectrometry measurements can be a valuable tool in the evaluation of the acoustic characteristics of automobile sound systems. TDS measurements are especially helpful in identifying the separate contributions to the overall sound field made by the direct sound, early reflections and the diffuse field. These measurements can also be used directly to find the source of unwanted sound coloration.
